Batch Control Data Entry
Batch Control is used to tag registrant records as belonging to a specific batch or entered
by a specific user. Batch and user tags can be used to select a sub-set of
registrants when printing badges, tickets, and reports. Batch tags are typically
used during pre-show registration when registration forms are entered as they
are received, but must be printed as an ordered group. User tags can be used like
batch tags, but can also be used to measure the speed and accuracy of data
entry personnel, and provide an audit trail for cashier and data entry operations.
For Example:
Suppose you want batch tags to represent the source of the form, i.e. by fax,
mail, or email, and the week the registration form was received. By using a
combination of the week end date, and a single character transmittal code, we
could tag the fax, mail, and email forms with F_070598, M_070598, and E_070598
respectively. If, at the end of the month, we wanted to print badges for all
attendees who had registered via fax that month, we would select registrants with
batch tags of F_070598, F_071298, F_071998, and F_072698.
